Global Banking App: Add Beneficiary from Mob Contacts

Synopsis

UX, #IA, #Flows, #UI…
Example work adding features to core banking mobile app and aligning multiple countries to one global standard and tech platform. This epic included improving the adding of beneficiaries experience, allowing customers to conveniently use their existing mobile contacts to add/create a new beneficiary within the global mobile banking app.

This feature would first be rolled out locally (UK and Canada earmarked for rollout 1) with further rollout globally following a user & performance feedback period.

The Design

Adding new beneficiaries via mobile contacts

UX

The focus here was about the various states a users contacts may or may not be in. As such our app experience had to account and cater to each of these, whilst still making it feel convenient and simple to add.

The Impact

How did this work make a difference?

Broad Reach & User Expectations Met

Whilst I wouldn’t highlight this as a ‘revolutionary design’, it’s an example of well thought through UX and had a very large reach in terms of daily users experiencing this design, especially once rolled out to each country across the bank

Users expected to be able to be able to add details from their mobile contacts, given the widespread feature across other banking experiences (not to mention non-financial contacts integration)
